Quirino Grandstand gets makeover for Pope Francis



 MANILA (UPDATED) - The Quirino Grandstand in Manila is being refurbished in time for Pope Francis' visit.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is repainting the grandstand and placing new tiles.
The grandstand's VIP room is also getting a makeover.

Government is spending P29 million for the repairs, which the DPWH expects to be finished by the last week of December.

Pope Francis, who will arrive in Manila on January 15, will hold a Mass at the Quirino Grandstand on January 18 at 3:30 p.m.Millions of Catholics are expected to attend the Mass.
Pope Francis will be going back to the Vatican the following day.
